The Most Expensive Camera Ever Sold at Auction

Recently the record for the most expensive camera ever sold at auction was broken. The camera was a 1923 Leica 0-series (featured), as was the camera that set the previous record. Selling for €2,400,000 the camera was sold at the Westlicht camera auction in Vienna.

The Leica 0-Series is notorious in auction circles, commanding a high hammer price thanks to its rarity. There are only 12 known surviving prototypes, from the 25 that were created in 1923.
