Sotheby’s Made In Britain
Sotheby’s is following up its busy February with another mixed-media auction featuring photography. Made In Britain brings together ‘the very best in modern British art’ including paintings, photography, design and sculpture from as little as £300.
Photographers whose work is featured in this auction include Patrick Demarchelier, Terry O’Neill, John Deakin, Norman Parkinson, Chris Levine and Bill Brandt.
The print with the highest estimate is a 2007 photograph of Kate Moss taken by Mike Figgis (featured). The print is from an edition of 10 and is estimated to sell for £40,000 to £60,000. The lowest estimate goes to a print by Michael Cooper of John Lennon and Yoko Ono for £700 to £1,000.
The auction will take place on Wednesday 20th March in London with 260 lots available with Sotheby’s stating ‘Made in Britain offers the perfect opportunity to acquire works by some of the century’s most celebrated and sought-after artists and makers’.
