Christie’s Photographs Auction; Oct 2018

Quick on the heels of Phillips’ Photographs auction comes Christie’s own edition, taking place eight blocks away in Manhattan. Christie’s first Photographs auction of the season takes place straight after their An American Journey auction.

The Photographs auction has 181 lots available from artists such as Diane Arbus, Irving Penn, William Eggleston, Joseph Koudelka (featured and above), Thomas Ruff and Ansel Adams, with the lowest estimate set at $3,000 for a print by Yasuhiro Ishimoto, and the highest set at $700,000 for a print by Diane Arbus.
