Christie’s MoMA: Garry Winogrand Auction
Christie’s sees the first photography auction of the year this week with an online-only sale of photographs by Garry Winogrand from the Museum of Modern Art’s collection.
Winogrand’s (1928-1984) photographs are analogue black and white social documentary images. Christie’s explains his photos are “characteristically quick and candid social observations from city streets, social gatherings and various public spaces, mostly in North America, from the late 1950s through the 1970s.”
There are 48 lots available with estimates ranging from $3,000 to $15,000. The auction will be taking place from 16th-18th January on Christie’s platform. You can view all lots and register to bid here.
