Preliminary Auctions 2020

Though there are no photography auctions scheduled until April, there are a few mixed media auctions due with photographic lots including the annual auctions of Erotic Online, Now! and Made in Britain. The following is a calendar of the first quarter’s auctions, their dates and what to expect:

11-20 February: Erotic Online

Hosted by Sotheby’s London, this annual auction brings together images from a broad range of artists focusing on the depiction of nudity in art. This year’s edition is being held exclusively online. View lots and follow the auction here.

18-26 February: Now!

Sotheby’s Paris is hosting this annual auction bringing together works from a variety of contemporary artists with, usually, affordable prices – a great opportunity to invest in art before the artists’ work become mainstream. Sotheby’s bill the auction as ‘NOW! is a clever blend of contemporary, photographs, African and Oceanic and design works’. View lots and follow the auction here.

17 March: Made in Britain

Another mixed-media auction from Sotheby’s, this time based in London. Like the Erotic and Now! auctions, the Made in Britain offers buyers some affordable work, this time with a larger consignment of photographs from artists such as Richard Hamilton, Terry O’Neill and Chris Levine. View lots and follow along here.
